Using EmployDB without DAXTOP: how it works
EmployDB is built by DAXTOP and integrates deeply with the DAXTOP business platform — which raises an obvious question for everyone else: what is EmployDB like for a company that has never used a DAXTOP product and does not plan to? The short answer: identical where it matters. Direct registration, the same free plan with the same features, the same verification standard, and the same privacy rules. The DAXTOP connection changes how data arrives for DAXTOP businesses; it changes nothing about what the platform does for yours.
Getting started directly
A non-DAXTOP company registers at employdb.com: create the account, register the company, and pass employer verification — the review that confirms your business is real before you can issue records (see our verification-process article for what that involves). From there you build your structure — departments, positions — and add employees, who receive their own accounts and see their own records from day one. There is no imported roster because there is no connected product; you enter your team once, and the system is the same system from that point on.
What you get on the free plan — same as everyone
- Complete HR records — profiles, departments, positions, career events with dates and documents, training and certifications, private records scoped to HR and the employee.
- Role-based access and the full audit trail — included free, not premium-gated, for every company.
- No employee limit, no trial clock — the free plan is permanent and uncapped regardless of how you registered.
- Verified records for your employees — as a verified employer, the events you record become part of your employees’ permanent verified histories, exactly as they do for DAXTOP businesses.
- The optional Premium layer — network features (recruiter access requests, analytics, API) on the same terms as everyone else.
What the DAXTOP connection means for you
Practically, two things. First, infrastructure: EmployDB runs on the engineering and security foundation of a company whose main platform processes daily operations for businesses in 150+ countries — a free product with non-free-product underpinnings. Second, network gravity: every DAXTOP business that enables HR management joins the same verification network your employees and recruiters use, which makes the verified-records ecosystem more useful to you with zero effort on your part. What the connection does not mean: no DAXTOP branding on your HR, no pressure migration, and no special DAXTOP visibility into your records — the parent company is bound by the same consent architecture as everyone else.
If you ever do adopt DAXTOP
Nothing about using EmployDB standalone forecloses anything: a company that later adopts the DAXTOP platform for operations (POS, inventory, finance — see daxtop.com) can connect its product to its existing EmployDB company, and team sync simply begins from there. The reverse is equally true — EmployDB works standalone indefinitely. The two products are designed so that each is complete alone and better together, which is the only honest way to build an ecosystem.
